iGGi Conference Code of Conduct
iGGi is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof). iGGi welcomes the free exchange and debate of diverse ideas and opinions. Such open debate requires mutual respect and good faith of all participants.
The iGGi community does NOT tolerate:

Inappropriate imagery or content
Harassment includes but is not limited to: offensive verbal or written comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, unwanted photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. If what you’re doing is making someone feel uncomfortable, that counts as harassment and is enough reason to stop doing it.
Photography: We acknowledge that individuals (including speakers) may not want to be photographed, therefore we have a coloured lanyard system in place to indicate your photography preferences. This applies to you as a participant and professional photographers at the event who may be taking pictures of groups and individuals. Please, see the information provided when you come to the registration desk on arrival. Please, request permission if you intend to post anyone’s image to social media.
Adherence
Attendees asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately. Absolutely everyone involved with our activities, including participants, members, sponsors, guests, volunteers, organisers, and our committee members, are subject to our Code of Conduct.
If a person engages in any harassing behaviour, we may take any action we deem appropriate, this can include (but is not limited to) a warning, being asked to leave the event, being removed from the event by security/police.
If you are subject to harassment or any of the behaviours listed above or have any other concerns, please come to the event registration desk and ask to speak to any of the contacts given below. Any concerns raised will be treated confidentially and with sensitivity. If you can’t or don’t wish to speak in person or prefer to talk privately or electronically, contact us at iGGi-admin@york.ac.uk with “CONDUCT” in your email title.
We expect people to follow these rules throughout the conference, all conference associated social events and any communication related to the conference.
iGGi is at a stage where we are willing to scrutinise ourselves and work towards a welcoming, inclusive community. We are still growing and learning, and are aware that we do not always get things right. Please let us know if there is anything you feel we could do to help you feel safe, supported and included.
